Some of you know me on here. I work as the HP at a high end club in AZ.. we have a group that comes every year full of super high end clients.. long story short myself and our GM were invited for a 4 day golf vacation in August this year and here is the line-up:

Deepdale
Shinnecock
Friars Head
Maidstone
Bethpage

Yankees box seats (gave lesson to president of MLB)

Anyone play any of these before? If so how would you rank them??

Supposed to be one of the best courses in the country. That's all I have to add.

Word is people who’ve played both Shinnecock and Maidstone will secretly tell you they enjoy Maidstone more.

Super Jelly. Have a great trip!

Played all 5. Shinnecock is very playable but it’s neighbor ... National Golf Links of America is better and more fun. Just not long enough for the pros. Shinnecock par 3s are classic and hard. Listen to the caddy on 11. It will look impossible. Members call that par 3, the best par 5 on the course. Brutal.

Maidstone after first two holes awseome. But if windy very hard. Short and again wind will kill you it’s right in the Atlantic.

Friars Head is a big boy course. Very difficult. Club house is out of this world. Make sure to walk the platform between 15 and 16 ... beautiful view of Long Island Sound.

I’ve played 18 of the top 20 courses. Bethpage is by far the hardest. Not even close. The gap between Bethpage and second hardest is greater IMO than the gap between second hardest and 20th.

Friar's Head has GPS coordinates for your helicopter landing or boat docking. Sounds like your group should fit right in.

Should be awesome!

well, i wouldn't brag about it subtly ... i'd outright brag about it ... i played bethpage this past summer ... walked/carried at 6700 or so and shot 77 ... with a hangover (too much wine in huntington) ... made 3 par putts of 10 feet or so on 3 of the last 5, and hit a 20 yard bunker shot to 2 ft on 17 ... one of the more memorable rounds i've played, and am thinking about driving up and doing it again ... fabulous area with fabulous golf courses ...

Pics

I've played Shinni, NGLA, and Sebonack a few times and they are amazing.

I had to get back and couldn't make it to Friars Head with some of the guys from our group but they thought it was the best of the bunch. That's saying ALOT!

*Assuming BP Black*
1. Friars Head
2a. Shinnecock
2b. BP Black
4. Maidstone
NR Deepdale

Until I play Pine Valley or Augusta, Friar's Head is #1, of courses I have played, without question.
A lot of tradition/history at Shinnecock but I don't hit it far enough off the tee (some carry distances were 275+) to have truly enjoyed that round. Experience A1.
Sidebar - played BP Black and Shinnecock in the same weekend. Definitely get a caddy for BP Black because a walking carry is BRUTAL the day before Shinnecock (had caddy at Shinnecock)
Played Maidestone with a board member, 30 mph winds, 50 gusts, a true grind. I made 1 par. Flushed a 4 iron from 125 a few times. Makes me appreciate the Open Champ in tough conditions. Great course but because of the conditions, I am salty.
