Ping G400

Most forgiving driver that I know what it's going to do. The LST is a lonnnnng driver too. Might be a yrd shorter than SZ, but I have alot more confidence standing over the 400. I also play it a 44"

I honestly have been leaning towards the G400. I usually like to buy slightly used equipment, but no one that has the G400 wants to give it up.

I had the same thing happen. The Rogue was ok, but it had an annoying draw bias to it. Swapped back to Taylormade. The sound on the Epic Flash is awful

The regular Flash and SZ sound completely different. The SZ is bad. The Regular is okay.

Breaking down the numbers it shows there really isn't a high difference on average between the best and worst of the new stuff every year. It's all about the right fit.

Shout out to Sucks Sporting Goods in house Tommy Armour brand for producing decent woods two years running.

Last year's TA1 was really solid. You're talking 5 yards difference max for $200+ cheaper.

Since your Driver is the most important club in your bag, I say demo the best ones and spend the $500. Best money on golf I ever spent is on my Epic Driver and 3 wood.

Meh, I dont subscribe to this logic personally. Driver is used 12-14 times a round typically. There are people who play decent golf and never take out the driver. However, they use the putter and wedges on every hole.

I'd argue saving a few bucks and getting a driver produced in the past 10 years with a good shaft that's going to give you ideal numbers for your swing. Spend the other money in a putter that offers some sort of game improvement like Evnroll, Ping, etc with their forgiving faces.

I've done this on a number of occasions. I've played golf without carrying a real driver and played without using the one in my bag.

When the original Nike Covert 3 Wood came out I killed it and almost never hit driver.

When the SLDR mini came out I used it instead of a true driver for a while.

When I swung faster and played some of my best golf I hit an old mizuno 2 utility iron off most tees.

Even now I can get similar distance and better control from the strong 3 woods on the market

When should I upgrade my 2010 Adams speeline fast 10?
I hit it pretty well.
Not sure how the new drivers compare.

It's tough to go really wrong these days. Like people have said, there's really very small differences in these heads now in terms of speed. However, forgiveness is where the huge step up in tech has taken place. Ping is legit. And that's what I've found with my Epic Flash. More forgiving than the rogue it seems.

The heads are all really close. The top three for ball speeds were within half an MPH. Some will respond better to the swings of individual golfers than others, as will how they “feel” to you. The best thing you can do is get optimized for your shaft and play a ball that fits your game.

Cobra F9, PXG Gen 2, Titleist TS3 and TM M6 were all good IMO, the rest are pretty boring.

re: MyGolfSpy’s Most Wanted Driver of 2019
Finally got good weather and made it to a demo day in Huntsville AL.this weekend that had all the vendors.
Reps were saying the buzz in the industry was Callaway is down this year and Cobra was the surprise so far. I track manned them all and the cobra was the best especially ball speed and mishits. Just seemed like I couldn’t miss it. Why anyone buys PXG is amazing to me because that driver was terrible. For what’s it worth I bought the F9 and thought the titliest was 2nd then TM then Callaway. Callaway sure did pick out some ugly colors this year.
Loved getting the best performing driver for me and the least expensive. Hope this helps the baws out if your looking for a new stick. F9 is definitely worth trying.

Cobra’s line of drivers have been under appreciated the past 5 or so years, IMO. The Fly-Z was pretty damn good.

Had an R11 Limited that was my baby. The shaft snapped when I went down to grab my tee and I'm not going to say I cried, but it was closer than I'd like to admit.

Ended up with a Titleist that was a generation or two old at the time. It sits well behind the tee and it's controllable. I tried an assortment of the latest and greatest drivers and they all didn't look right in my hands and they were very inconsistent for whatever reason, but they were long. I took the Titleist that averaged 5 yards less, but was something I liked the look of and could control.

It's all about consistency to me.

Just as an FYI... you can buy a shaft for a driver. They’re relatively easy to come by.
