I have a trip planned for the UP of Michigan in late May early June. Any course recommendations? I have heard the area is absolutely gorgeous this time of year. Thanks for any help.

It’s awesome up there during the summer. I played the big Indian casino’s course once and it was great.

Played all of the TreeTops courses in Gaylord Michigan last August and also played Arcadia Bluffs in Arcadia, MI and Tullymore Golf Club in Stanwood. All courses were in great condition and very tough. Arcadia Bluffs was really tough in the wind, but in outstanding condition. The greens were almost impossible and I am used to fast bentgrass greens. I would highly recommend all of those courses. Reasonable prices and we stayed at a house in Gaylord. Flew in and out Grand Rapids, so we drove a lot.

Arcadia Bluffs, Kingsley Club, Crystal Downs, the courses at Boyne, especially Arthur Hills and Bay Harbor, plenty of golf up there to choose from, beautiful part of the country with great food, beer, and golf.

Forest Dunes
The original golf course is an awesome combo of tree lined front 9 with dunes golf on the back 9 (Forest...Dunes)

They have a second 18 they call the Loop. Can be played backward and forwards. Played it both ways and Forest Dunes. Definitely in the top 10 of courses played.

All the courses mentioned so far are very good courses, but they are in the lower portion of MIchigan. The OP was asking about the Upper Peninsula courses.

In the UP, it appears that Graywalls gets the most mention as a top course.

Crystal Downs,

Do you reccomend I hit up Cypress Point when I go to Monterrey and Pine Valley when I go to Philly?

I’ll be in South Florida next month. I’ll give them baws at Seminole a call to see if I can get a tee time.
