Golden Nugget vs. L’Auberge, anyone play both to compare? I have time to play one. From the street they both look very nice.

At the time I’ll be playing it will be $79 for GN. Contraband actually has a price of $69 on Golfnow.

Lauberge was in terrible shape when I played about a month ago. Greens are ate up with some type of fungus or disease. Just large spots of furry bull shite everywhere. Fairways were meh and half the tee boxes were in bad shape.

Golden nugget is a good course if you can get it at $79

GN is usually in better shape that Contraband.
I actually like the Contraband layout better but the views are better at GN.
GN is really fun to play though and for $79 I think that is your best bet.

Friends of mine played Gray Plantation last week. Said it was in fantastic shape. Believe they paid 45, but played with a member.

Played Gray on Friday, it was in great shape. That is probably my favorite course in Lake Charles. If you can drive a little bit, Koasati Pines is well worth it.

Gray Plantation

Can anyone walk up and play there? Or do you have to play with a member?

I’ve played the LCCC, Golden Nugget, Contraband and Gray Plantation on golf/gambling trips with friends. How does The National GC in Westlake compare with those courses? Should we add it to our rotation?

It's not a good design and usually in poor shape. Other than that, it's great

LCCC is great and has been in great shape since we had the state fourball 2 weekends ago. We punched the next Monday, but if you can't get out there, it's already back in great shape.

The one you need to add is Kosati. It's 45 minutes from LC but it's at a casino and a good track.

I like Kosati but a couple of the trip planners had a bad experience there once and they are too stubborn to add it back in the rotation. The course had gotten a bunch of rain so it played long and the mosquitos were some bad m’fckrs

I actually like the design and the 10-15 times I've played it was never in bad shape. Then again I haven't played it in a year or so
