Is Acadian Hills still open? I played a high school tournament there in the mid 60's, but I never see mention of it on the board. Seems I remember Lionel Hebert and one of the Barbato brothers built it.

I don’t know when they will open again but I hope it’s soon. I’m tired of all the Lafayette golfers crowding up my course with miserably slow play and taking all the carts so there are none left for the dogfight in the afternoon

Louisiana golfers never cease to amaze me. Some golf courses are likely getting the most volume and profit they have ever seen (and ever will see) and Members are like screw all that!

You’re damn right frick all that. If they would use the money they are making right now to improve the course I would be all for it. But history has proven they won’t. So no, I don’t want to be stacked up with three foursomes waiting on each tee box while a twosome that looks like they never played before are playing 3 balls each holding everybody up. That happened yesterday. They were supposed to put a Marshall out there today for the first time ever but I didn’t go to see how that worked out. I have no delusions that it’s some kind of nice private course or that it ever will be. But it has been ridiculous with all the extra traffic

Here's a formula:

Volume + Profit + Golf = A shite course

Golf was never meant to be big business. If a course is out to make big money, they are gonna kill the product.
It's expensive. It's leisure. Those two things don't imply profit. They imply a nice day. Tons of golfers on a track 24/7 isn't accomplishing anything.

I worked there for nine years, fun golf course, good people, always could find a game, had the two big 4-Balls every year. Wish it was still open

You one of those old frickers in Abbeville that caused the course to close down last time?

Calling me an a-hole won’t change my opinion.

The Lafayette courses need to open back up. They never should have closed in the first place and they could be enjoying all this extra revenue y’all are so excited about

100% agree

They (the city) are banking that the fed will bail them out on the lost revenue.

Eunice needs to reopen. That would solve a lot of our issues.

This is true!

Looks like they are opening tomorrow as well as Eunice.

Let’s get a round together with Ted and Keg one day

I’m working nights until next Monday so I can’t play in the morning. But I was thinking about waking up early and playing the dogfight one day this week before work
