I need to regrip my clubs, which I haven't done in years. First, my lord grips are expensive.

Second, there are a ton of "knockoff" grips. I saw these and they are cheap compared to the golf pride grips they copied.

Anyone have any experience with Champkey or another off brand grip?

Saving a couple of bucks on grips is not going to make your game, that you're paying $50 bucks a round to play, is not going to be enjoyable.

Buy Iomic grips and get spend the money.

The reviews look great and are very thorough. It seems that the tape may be shite though. Go for it.

I recently bought a 13 pack of Winn Dri-Tacs for $59 off eBay with free shipping.

Dropped them off at Edwin Watts to just pay the $3 fee per club. The next day the dude just said if I had a twenty we were square lol

I'll probably just use my normal double sided masking tape. I'll let y'all know how they look and feel

So, when Iomic was new to the scene and charging $42 for full set of grips in order to get their name and product out there, would you have said the same thing?

Not bad, if you have the tools. Will be frustrating if you dont.

I'm in the process of changing my grip myself for the first time. Not bad at all if you have a vice to put the club in. I ordered a set Rexton X-tour lite midsize grip kit just to see if I could do it($28). Kit came with 13 grips, rubber club holder for vice, and tape. Went to buy the solvent and the guy at the golf shop said the best thing to use is charcoal lighter fluid. So far so good. There are a couple of you tube videos that helped. There is one where you use air pressure that I will try next.

Cut the grips off with a box cutter. If you are trying to save the grip. use a hypodermic needle and squirt gas into the grip. That will typically let it slide off. Clean off the old tape.

Put some double sided masking tape on the shaft. Pull the backing off of the tape. Pour some gas into the grip. Shake the grip. Pour the gas from the grip onto the tape on the shaft. Slide it on. Square it up.

The vice helps, but it isn't necessary. just throw a towel down on the ground so your club doesn't get scuffed up.

It is really simple and not worth the $3 a club Watts would charge you.

Replacing your own grips is something everyone should learn how to do. It’s really not hard and you do not need any special equipment. I find it to be a therapeutic golf exercise. One tip I would mention is to find the centerline of your current grip, for which there is usually a mark on the grip itself, and mark your shaft with a Sharpie to give yourself a reference point when you install the new grip. This tip will keep you from having to do an excessive amount of twisting to line up the center of the new grip. Also, it gives you a little peace of mind that your new grip is on straight (really important for putter grips).

As to the grip kits mentioned, I may be an outlier but I prefer different grips for woods, irons and wedges, so a 13 grip kit will end up being a bad decision for me.

I think so. I've never tried it, though.

I would advise ordering just one first. Chinese rubber products are notorious for smelling absolutely obnoxious.

Lighter fluid works just as well and doesn't smell quite so strong.

Did this exact thing back in the spring. Would recommend, I'll be doing this from now on.

Learn to change grips. Even if you don't want to do a whole set, it helps to be able to change 1 or 2 out when needed.

My only 2 tips :

-Get the pre-cut double sided tape

and

-Buy a pack of those hook-blades (for cutting carpet, I think) for your box cutter

“Karma” grips from Value Golf. Been using for over a year. Work fine for me.
