Did Smiley keep his card? I thought he was playing in the Shriners Tourney this weekend.

Has automatic status through the end of the year. Still injured I believe.

He filed for a medical extension. When he returns, he will be allowed 5 starts and will need to earn a certain amount of Fedex cup points to retain his card or some sort of status.

Even if he doesn’t retain his card he likely has an exemption to the Shriners for a few more years since he won that tournament…

Going to a new swing coach too, which I learned after his third round at the Zurich this year. No clue he was using a new coach. Add that to an "injury" and it takes a year or two to come back.
