Tell me I didn't frick up.

I'm a ProV1X guy with a high swing speed. I reviewed a ton of testing data, mostly from MyGolfSpy.Com and a couple other sites, and the MTB-X seems to be a perfect fit for my game and way cheaper than ProVs.

Thoughts?

I did the same except with the black.

Unless youre a brand loyalist, you'll absolutely love the ball. I've tried the black, and it was superb off the driver. I need a little more spin around the greens and so went with Black.

Wont be switching balls for a long time. No reason to.

LINK

This test says the MTB-X has more spin with the wedge than the black?

Scroll down to tableau charts, you can filter how you want. Pretty cool data.

Regardless, I'm pumped. I've been playing a lot during quarantine (Thanks Tennessee) and really tired of losing a couple Pro Vs a round at our course that is easy to lose a ball on.

That'd be an awesome 4 week experiment for me

I have a 116mph swing speed. Play the new ProV1 and Srixon ZStar XV.

I tried the mtb-x last yr due to mygolfspy. Didn’t like them at all. Mainly due to performance around the greens. Didn’t spin as well as the others and felt clicky.

NOOO!

Whatever, it was like $120 for 4 dozen. I'll burn through them before the end of the Summer unfortunately

I am a Pro V1X guy and put the Snell MTB-X into play for the first time yesterday. They are longer, but they definitely spin (and curve) more than the V1X. Trajectory was prob slightly higher as well. You’ll love them with the short irons and wedges. I spun an 110 yard wedge shot back about 20 ft yesterday. They checked up nice on pitches and full iron shots as well.

Very good ball, especially for the money. I need to see if I can control them a little better off the tee.

Tough to beat the V1X. Best ball ever IMO.

This is what I'm most worried about.

Hope this isn't true. I've got a wicked high trajectory as is and the data said this should actually have slightly lower than V1X.

I guess I just have an excuse to really play a lot this weekend to test em out

Small and anecdotal sample size. I wasn’t swinging well with the driver yesterday. Ball position felt off. I hit a couple that felt highish for me. The few I hit on the screws really seemed to go. I’ve got a big strong buddy who’s usually waaayyyy past me and he was only 25 yards past me on my best swings.

I’m about to order 6 dozen more. Honestly can’t think of a single negative.

Same, didn’t like the way they felt off my irons. Lost a club length on all of my shots.

I started using the mtb-x last year and I absolutely love them. The prov1x was my normal ball before

I played snell for a long time. Just such a great deal. But I switched to the Bridgestone Tour BX. Straighter, just as long, plenty of spin with wedges. I actually don’t want extra spin. I like being about to pull it back just a few feet with full shots or simply stop it with the chips. I want my number to be where it stays.

Yeh, I read their study and have my issues with it. I do my own experimentation and it goes something like this: If I use the same ball for more than 1 round, it's a keeper.

That being said, if you have a hard time with the X, try the Black. I've found it to play very similar to a ChromeSoft which is my all time favorite ball.

Snell MTB-X is one of the best balls I've ever played, along with the TaylorMade TP5-X. I usually alternate between those 2 balls, and I have no reason to use anything else.

I found that the MTB-X (blue box) is similar to proV1 with driver and irons. The Snell Black was same or longer with irons, but 20 yards shorter with the driver! I played two rounds with it, so I think it's an accurate assessment. Can't explain the results. My driver is about 230 carry, 7 iron goes 155.

I switched last year and haven’t looked back. Added about 5yds of distance, I find that the ball flight is a lot more “big”. And green side spin is exceptional.

And at least than $30/box, well worth it.

I’ll add that it definitely feels and lot more solid when you hit it especially if you’ve been playing a softer ball. And that takes some getting used to. You’ll hit a shot that feels completely wrong and then watch it land exactly where you want it to.
