Was breaking 90 every time with a range of 80 to 89 for 20 plus rounds.

Went on a trip.
Did not play for a week.

I have shot 92; 96 and 92 since I returned.

I’m just a little off, but my tee shots are ok.

Short game is way off.
Should I abandon playing for now and just sharpen short game?

I’m not very good, but this is awful.

Same here, playing around 77-84

Tried to make some adjustments to get better, and now I’m playing “golf swing” on the course and shooting in the high 80s

I guess I need to realize that our best golf sort of comes and goes in waves.

I got down to 8.7 index this spring. Then popped up to 12 then back to 9.5.

I guess my best is only a small fraction of the rounds I play, but man I am scoring terrible right now. If I make the green, 3 putts. Seem to be drawing more bad lies, but probably just noticing things more.

In a funk, need to breakout.

Just concentrate on strike. Swing 75-80% and hit center of club face. Works every time

Spend an hour or two on the range filming your swing instead of playing. When you are consistently hitting the shots you are trying to hit, then go out and play.
Don’t just shotgun balls. Pick a target and don’t switch clubs until you hit 10 shots I’m a row at said target.

I went to the range for the first time in about 3 weeks today and it was terrible. Even the shots that had great distance, accuracy and ball flight felt terrible.

It was a really weird feeling. Some shots went exactly where I was targeting with great ball flight, but the feedback I was getting at impact felt horrible.

You've probably made a very subtle adjustment and it's got you questioning everything.

Mine is that I typically stand to close to the ball with short game and it makes me feel terrible. I've spent alot of time this past summer on consistency. It's paying off now and hopefully everything else will fall in line over time.

The funk continues.

I did pitch in on 18 yesterday- for par!

6 pars, but putrid scores abounded. 2 triples. Bracketed one triple with 2 pars.

Sometimes when trying to improve, you over analyze the game. Get back to the basics. If flubbing chips, pitch with a lower bounce and work on hitting a spot. If 3 putting, work on first putt getting inside 4 feet. Focus on getting to the green. If you hit a bad shot, don't try to figure out what went wrong. Focus on how you can get back into the hole. Eventually, the game will come back, and you'll be better for it.

Prime example... Par 5 1st yesterday. I hit a bad drive into the right rough. Flub a punch shot about 40 yards behind a tree. Still 205 yards out for my third shot. Instead of dwelling on 2 consecutive poor shots to start the round, I hit one to 20 feet and two putted for par.

It's a frustrating game, but you have to stay in the present.

Go have a pro straighten out your swing. 1-2 lessons can make a big difference.

Right there with you. I can't string a whole round together.

2 weeks ago I didn't miss a fairway and shot 90. Couldn't chip.

Yesterday I missed damn near every fairway but irons and short game were on. 90.

Last time I got in a bad funk, a pro straitened me out in 30 seconds. I was still warming up, he walked up and said you are doing ________, stop it. The next 5 balls were pounded and all was well. It's amazing what having someone help you out can do.

Rub one out before the round to sharpen your mind.

I haven't played in almost a year. Used to go almost every week. Went to play 9 last week and it was like I have never played before. I used to drive around 300 with slight fade. Now I'm duck hooking like a beginner. Irons not much better except for short irons.

Not even sure where to start getting this fixed.

Just need to keep your swing simple and short.
