I suck at golf and need basic lessons. Work has been inviting me to more tournaments regularly and I’m done embarrassing myself. Who do I go to in BR? Not looking to be a pro but have the basics.

A lot of guys will chime in with pro suggestions; however, please remember, practice is the only way to get better. Lessons will give you direction. You’ll need to put in some time. good luck

Explore some of the websites with video instruction.

Watch lessons on how to putt.
IF you become a good putter, it will pay dividends.

As far as developing a consistent swing, start with the grip.
Make sure you understand the set-up. Good posture.

Fundamentals like grip, stance, posture and aim are important for any player.

One thing I struggle with is the difference between swinging hard and swinging to create useful speed at the bottom.

Rehearsing grip, stance, posture can be done without hitting a single ball.

Good luck,

As well as Me and My Golf, Rick Shiels, and Peter Finch. Great free instruction on YouTube.

Also, I think any new player should read Ben Hogan’s Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf. Quick read, and lays a great foundation for understanding further instruction.

Then range time. Lots of it.

Grip the club correctly every time, learn to aim properly, remember this is a golf swing not a hit. From there you gotta get it out of,the dirt.

Chris Burkstaller @ Greystone or Travis Coxe at Santa Maria are both great options.

Chris Burkstaller at Greystone. I took a lesson from him last Tuesday. I expect my hcp to drop 4-5 strokes as a result.

Tells you the:
1. Problem
2. Solution
3. HOW TO correct

The best golf instructor in Baton Rouge is a no brainer. Ryan Mcgwyer at golf tec is phenomenal! His resume blasts anyone in town. Dude has worked under 5 of the current top 100 coaches in America. He won 2017 Golf tec national teacher of the year. I know several guys who went from 12s to 3s while working with him. Travis Cox is a good player not a PGA golf pro. Chris Burkstaller is also very good, good dude!

It's Ryan. Only guy I know who uses the term "juicy fruit" as an insult. Pretty sad for him to come on here pretending to be a customer and even more sad how badly he disguised himself.

He deleted his Facebook...

Which deletes his posts and profile. But not the comments he made to that girl.

What exactly happened? I came in to that thread late and saw his multiple alters claiming he didn't do whatever it was because they were with him. Two obvious alters saying exactly the same thing.

Went on some random local girl's facebook and called her a c*nt and said her only contribution to this country is being hot. I'm not sure why he was replying when he didn't even know the girl. And he wasn't hacked. He posted a pic this morning from his house bragging about getting some swag from the Chicago Golf Club. The posts to the girl never were removed.

I heard Ryan at GolfTec was awesome and if you tip him a $20 he’ll make the lesson a little more ‘personal’.

Just an update. When I took the lesson from Chris Burkstaller at Greystone a couple of months ago, my handicap was 15. After applying his lesson to my game, my handicap has dropped to a 9.
