First time getting golf lessons from a golf pro at a country club. I'm not a member. Was wondering what the protocol is as far as tipping? Tip or not? Thanks.

I took a short game lesson A few weeks ago and tipped 20%. Guy taught me some stuff that has shaved strokes off my score. The rest of my game is shite but that's not his fault. In short I do.

You wouldn't be the first and he wouldn't look at you like you're crazy if you slip him an extra $20 - but it in no way is expected or would he think twice about not being tipped. I would estimate much more people do not tip.

I'm OT poor, so even if I could scrape up $80-100 for an hour lesson, I wouldn't tip. I think that amount for an hour of instruction is more than fair compensation.

I wouldn't tip. He set the price for his services, so I don't think you are wrong for not paying in addition to his requested price.

Tipping is not necessary. I charge $100 an hour and if you pay cash I keep it all. If you pay with a card the course will typically take 20%... in those cases maybe throwing a $20 tip is appropriate
