Golf Course in Washington DC Area - Need recommendation
Going to be in DC for 5 days next week for work. Would like to play a course or two around the area. Any recommendations?

East Potomac is a historical muni with some great views of the monument. I enjoyed it when I played.

East Potomac is a shithole. Laurel Hill is a good recommendation but depending on what time you play Lorton could be an hour plus drive from DC.

Call up Burning Tree and see if they have any openings

Laurel Hill shows 25 min drive currently, but it would be late afternoon when I play, so that could easily be an hour. I would prefer not to uber an hour away if possible, but I hate playing shitty courses where the fairway is half dirt and the greens have sand traps.

What is East Potomac compared to here locally around the Baton Rouge area?

This looks like a private course? Am I missing something?

Whiskey Creek, 1757 and Maryland National are all good public options.

For anything up there be prepared for mats on the range (even for a $100+ round)

Laurel hill is a championship level golf course. Well manicured, lots of elevation change, fast greens and true greens. Wednesday-Sunday if no rain the driving range is grass.
