You posted while I was replying. See above.

Um. Why are you laughing? Did YOU read what you quoted. Do you understand what was being described in “stage 1”?

It's not my claim you dumbass

Because you keep siting the science of wedge spin.

bullshite. I am defending truth and science. You were caught not understanding something an will not admit to being wrong. It's sad really. I mean, you could have easily said, "Oh, damn, I didn't realize things were different with low lofted faces." But no, you have to argue with me about other experts' assertions.

It's explained here, again.

Why don't golf club manufacturers reduce driver spin by reducing friction on club face?

quote:

Reducing friction on the driver face actually causes the ball to slide across the face at impact. Increasing friction prevents the ball from slipping, which increases quality compression time. And the more you compress the ball, the lower the spin.

I think the main crux of your argument is: if a rough/grooved surface on a driver could reduce spin, why don’t all drivers come with a rough/grooved surface? Especially in a time when all manufacturers are pulling out all stops to reduce spin and increase forgiveness. I don’t think the surfacing of a driver’s face has any meaningful impact on spin characteristics and as mentioned, Cobra isn’t claiming that either. Cobra is CNC milling the face to reduce inconsistencies across the product line vs competitors’ hand polished faces.

What I want to know is how will this face hold up? Hell, the center of my scotty is starting to wear and I putt with that thing at a whopping 1mph.

Where are the links to your first quotes? That link has Jeff answering a question and a video produced by Bridgestone supplied to my golf spy. Jeff talks about how it improves compression and that leads to less spin which is completely different from your original quotes.

And all of this to still say that the affect, if any, is so small compared to other factors that it still doesn’t make an impact on overall spin. If that’s the case, why did Bridgestone stop making a driver with microgroves? The JGR.

It's not my argument. I was just responding to another poster who was ridiculing the claims. I have heard of the driver spin deal for many years. It's pretty much well known in the industry.

Still waiting on those links to your original quotes.

Like I said. It’s no different than the claims of 10 extra yards OEMs spout with every release. You believe those too I suppose. There’s always “science” to support it.

Which ones?

Yes, it's very different. It's repeated over and over. Did you bother to google "driver face spin slide"?
Everything you will find will be similar to the stuff I've quoted. It's science, and you are a denier.
