Gimmick clubs on tv

It seems about once a month there is some type of new club - mostly it seems for around the green or out of the bunker. I have never seen anyone anywhere use these gimmick clubs.

I’ve seen a couple people use the heavy putter. I’ve hit it a few times and it seems like a good club

Back in the late 90’s when Golf was becoming more mainstream thanks to Tiger, there seemed to be a new gimmick club commercial/infomercial each week. Tight Lies, Tear Drop putter, Killer B driver, etc. Every long driver that came out had an infomercial with that damn swing robot in order to prove how good it was.
Not to mention all of the golf practice “tools” and training techniques that were also being pitched late at night on The Golf Channel.

The Medicus has to be one of the most successful informercial products ever. Those things were everywhere. Not a bad product either.

I have a friend that has some sort of wedge/putter hybrid that he got at Kmart for maybe $10. He isn’t very good and knows it is a stupid club but still uses it once or twice a round
