Evacuated to Bham to my parents’ for Ida

Decided to check out this course

Holy hell what a treat

The elevation changes are something else

The greens were so pure, maybe best I’ve ever seen they were so smooth and true

Felt like a course that took pride in being great, something I can’t find in New Orleans outside of TPC

Played it this spring. Such a beautiful, well maintained course. Pristine conditions and great landscape and views. Stayed at the cabin on site. Course wasn’t terribly hard, great for any handicap in my opinion. I shot 76 when we played it.

Par 3 5th hole is fun to play with such a drop in elevation.

I think the PGA could play a tournament out there. The property is beautiful and very well kept. But the pros would destroy that course.

Do they still perform research out on the course? When I played it years ago, they were doing a study on different zoysia grasses and how they grew in the shade next to the #1 green. They had 2 rows of 4 different blocks of zoysia grass with each block being 4'x4'. They had a placard on each block with the name of the particular grass.

On other holes, they'd have a different grass on each tee box. Very fun and interesting course. Hospitality was incredible.
