Anyone played the course? Headed over there next weekend and just booked a time. Reviews are good.

I played there about a month ago. It was in outstanding shape.

make sure they havent punched the greens - most courses in austin are planning or have recently punched.
long golf course, not a particularly amazing layout but a fanastically well conditioned golf course. #8 (i think), the par 3, is the signature hole and a HARD place to hit a green.
have fun!

Played it ~5 years ago
It was the worst compared to the other courses we played: the Barton Creek courses and Wolfdancer

Barton Creek is nice. I’ve heard Wolfdancer has lost their greens.

I enjoy it. Solid course.
Give Star Ranch a try. Not terribly long and in good shape. Punched the greens this past Monday and have redone most of their bunkers. You can get breakfast, lunch, drink and round for $75.

I liked it. Stay out of the trees if you can because that’s an automatic stoke per hole.
The elevated par 3, I think #17, is fun. Easy distance but water throws a challenge into it.
My in-laws live in that neighborhood.

I played there back in May after asking this board for recs. Barton Creek is only open to members while they do their renovations, so I chose Falconhead.
I was undergoing some major swing changes and I found the experience at Falconhead to be less than ideal. The main reason for it was that when I called to book the day prior, I specifically asked if they had a range and if range balls were included with greens fees.
I was assured they did, so I booked on the phone right then.
When I arrived the next morning early to warm up they told me the range is closed on (Tuesday mornings?) and that I could go practice putting. That really was bad news for me. Not only did I have 2 penalties on the first hole, I had to try and figure out my swing on the course-which was impossible during that phase of the change.
So, I was totally unable to get out of my head about them not telling me the range was closed the day before. I thought the layout was pretty decent, and the back 9 was prettier.
I’d never play it again due to my harbored resentment LOL.
