Evnroll

Has anyone played with one of these putters enough to give feedback? There are some pretty good reviews on YouTube and online regarding the technology in the pattern of the milled grooves and how it helps maintain the distance on off-center hits. There are additional claims that there is a “gear like” effect that brings off-center hits back towards the intended line.

I can buy into the claims of consistent distance with the off-center putts (similar to the True Roll technology Ping offers), but the gear-like effect is somewhat concerning to me. The tests are done on straight putts to show how it works, but if you have a breaking putt and hit off-center, wouldn’t that potentially increase the distance of the miss?

MGS is all about them. I like the ER7, but I can't justify cranking out $350 for a putter. There is no way it's that much better than my Odyssey.

OP, Ping Vault and Sigma line putters are very similar without the extra coin.

I own a Vault Oslo and have been pleasantly surprised by the results. I rarely have a 2nd putt outside of a foot now. Take a look at those if your strapped for cash.

I read the MGS review and they are definitely high on the putter. Also, Rick Shiels rates it as his best putter in a YouTube review, and his reviews generally seem free of bias or endorsement.

I almost pulled the trigger on a used one off eBay, but the deeper I got into the reviews the more doubt crept in. No one around here (NELA) has them so I can’t personally test them. In theory, center hits on the putter will not role as far due to the wider milling pattern (less surface area) while off-center hits will roll further due to the thinner milling pattern (more surface area makes contact). The putters are also supposedly really heavy with counter balanced weight in the grip.

To much crap to consider when I’m already mentally fragile in the putting department. Guess I’ll wait until I make a trip to Dallas to hit the PGA Supertore.

Thanks, I also have my eye on a Ping Vault 2.0 B60 bronze putter since it has the True Roll face technology. For some reason, the Ping TR face gets very little hype in the reviews when it supposedly does what the Evnroll does. The price tag doesn’t matter so much, I’ve pissed away so much money on golf equipment over the years it wouldn’t even matter .

i agree. people will shell out $400-$500 for this years new driver but complain about a $300+ putter that is used exponentially more than a driver.

If you have a ping vault 2.0, there is nothing you will gain from an Evnroll. That being said, I’ll buy that Pingnoff you when you get the new Evnroll

Edwin Watts in New Orleans has an ER5 and I gave it a few rolls.

Idk if it's because I hyped myself up a good bit or what, but it just didn't do it for me. For starters, the milled tech part is really only as wide as a golf ball... maybe a touch wider. I game the Ping Vault currently, and I notice anywhere off the face rolls consistently distance wise. The Evnroll was not the case. Had to be within the center of the face, at which point, any of the putter makers are all pretty even out the center.

Feel left alot to be desired. Almost "dead" and left me longing for more. I normally steer clear of the Scotty's but the Scotty made the ER feel cheap. Feel is all subjective, but I'd pass on an Evnroll. Gonna hang out within the Vault line for now.

Never used one, but bought my TM Spider off eBay for like 170, basically brand new and it was the best money I've ever spent on golf equipment

I just don’t feel that it lives up to the hype, or price point. I think at midd 200s, they’d be a little more appealing

I was serious about getting one. Played in a scramble with a guy that had one and it sounded like crap when he hit the ball. Bought a TP Red instead.
