What a stupid arse format. Makes the Tour Championship pretty worthless outside of 10 players.

I don't like this format.

Someone said last year...
AFC wins their Conf Champ 45-10
NFC wins their Conf Champ 24-23

AFC Starts the Superbowl with a 13-0 lead... HUH???

My thought is why even show up if you’re gonna start 10-15 shots behind the leaders with no chance of winning?

Seems like a good way to get a bunch of shitty golf that no one wants to participate in, including the players themselves.

Except in that scenario the original lead was built against a different opponent, golfers Are all playing against each other every week.

I think this is more similar to a soccer match with goal differentials coming into play

The scenario was a hypothetical... it could be the Championship Games, Regular Season Record, Most Defensive TD's, Most butt Fumbles, etc...

I just don't like a golf tournament being partially decided by previous tournament results no matter the criteria.

In the current format it is not a golf tournament any more. It is the final event of the FEDEX playoffs. I understand what they are trying to do but it just isn't a golf tournament.

Golfers beat other golfers by 10+ over 4 rounds all the time. Hell look at missed cut players.

I prefer this format. Always bothered me that someone was celebrating winning the cup and $10M and then another for winning the tourney. Make it one event with drama in the last group on Sunday playing for the cup.

I disagree. I’m excited to see how it goes. Of course, it will be a dud if Brooks starts out with a couple of 65s. But anything can happen.

there won’t be any drama coming down 18 when the mother frickr started with a 10 stroke lead

Why is it necessary for anyone to have an advantage in the “Championship Game”.

The Pats were 18-0 going into the Super Bowl against a 13-6 Giants team. They started the Super Bowl even.

This is legit stupid.

Why not make the Tour Championship a 32 person match play event over 4 days? A 36 hole final on Sunday with the winner pocketing $15 million and “loser” getting $5 million. It would make for some serious pucker factor on those 3 footers Sunday afternoon.

Because there is SO MUCH money at stake.

That being said, it’s still an absurdly stupid format.

Because 30th place pays $395,000.

Every shot is worth thousands of dollars

What's stupid is Justin Rose missed the cut at the Masters and finished an hour before Tigers win at the championship and still won.

Now the winner of the final event will actually be the champion. Having two winners was incredibly dumb

Worse last year.
