Thanks in advance

Haven’t played out there in a couple weeks. But the course normally in really good shape. Only problem is it’s slow AF out there. Be prepared to wait on every shot.

That is miserable and an absolute round killer for me

It’s why I chose to play somewhere else yesterday. We talked about carter. And decided against it because it would probably take forever. I really like the course. Just not worth it.

Playing this afternoon. Will make sure I bring plenty of snacks and drinks. Thanks for the warning.

I read y'all's critiques about pace of play, but figured a 50* January Saturday wouldn't be unbearable.
Finished the 10th hole 3 hours after we started. Called it quits. Guy in the shop didn't even apologize for the pace of play.
I hate the swapped 9s, but 5-6 hour rounds are inexcusable.

Yep, played before the flip of the course, 5.5 hrs. Played after the flip, 5 hrs. We actually teed off on 10 thinking it was 1. No one in the pro shop told us any different.

It’s just not worth it. Flipping the nines didn’t do much to time. It was already slow. They don’t spread tee times out enough.
Sucks because it’s my favorite course within an 40 mins of my house.

The plus of the flipped nines was that I was able to stop and have a burger at the bar, sit inside and eat, and still not fall behind the group in front of us.
But I hit long iron into the first 3 greens. The range was closed, so not exactly how I'd like to start the day. The original routing eases you in much better. 9 is also a terrible finishing hole.

Slow, boring, easy and mediocre shape as usual

I don’t know what it is. It’s unbearable at times. I live fairly close to Carter and it’s probably the course I play most often. If the weather is anything resembling decent you can forget about it. They stack up the tee times and the marshalls don’t do a damn thing about slow play. The swapped nines didn’t do anything.
I really don’t like making the turn at the clubhouse. 17-18 are SOB of a holes and it was a lot better having that be your turn than trying to close on those two holes.

I dont think it was flipped for pace of play. I think it was flipped to increase the amount of people that stop in at the bar at the turn. Which, because of the pace, has to have skyrocketed.

Yeah they obviously don’t give a shite about pace. They flipped the nines to try to make more money from people at the turn. I won’t go back unless people on here say things have changed. Can’t stand paying 70 bucks to be miserable

Yea that is what makes golf unbearable at times for people.
Cam 2 in Amite. Perfect amount of people to Play in 3 hours or shorter every round

That’s next on the list for me to try. It’s pretty close by my house. Never heard of it until I saw it on this board last couple months.

I played in late September. We had a 9:45 or so tee time and we waited on the first tee for at least an extra 30 minutes. The starter was letting groups hit two a piece. One group even waited for the group on the green to clear, with no hurry from the starter. We ended up getting run off the course on 16 due to a scramble starting at 2. We should have been finished if not for their lack of giving a damn about pace of play. I like the course but try to avoid due to these reoccurring issues.

I love the layout at Cam2 but the greens are soooo small on the front 9.
Played it this summer twice. The greens are small but with the front 9 being short I think it keeps things fair. I bet the guys that play it ton are solid with irons. It's just a nice change of pace compared to the courses I normally play.
I play Carter pretty consistently because it's a pretty short drive from BR but man the slow pace of play is a killer in the last year or so.

They’re charging $70? Seems a little steep.
When did the pace of play become so unbearable? Wasn’t like that 5-6 years ago.
