Been playing a lot the past 6 weeks or so at one of the local courses in my area, Tamahka Trails, and I’ve noticed that I lost 20-30 yards on my drive. Kind of annoying as that is the game I’ve always relied on.

Anyways, I’ve been searching for a solid golf ball. I’ve played mostly with ProV1’s, but I’m just not feeling it anymore. My swing speed averages in the 123-126mph range as I’ve tested this multiple times the past few years.

Here is what I am looking for:
1. The best ball that I can use for local golf tournaments. Price can be high.
2. Best bang for my buck kind of ball. I really like the Laddie Precepts but they are stupid cheap and I scuff them on almost every iron shot.

Also, I have a 3 year old Taylor Made SLDR driver with a Miyazaki Extra Stiff shaft.

This is not due to the golf ball.

So you just highlight parts of the thread to make it fit your agenda? Sounds like the douchebag lawyer-type to me

I put the type of driver/shaft in the OP thinking maybe that my driver may be the problem.

Also, my swing speed is legitimate. I have gone to 3 different golf shops and they were all very accurate.

Since I have switched from Bridgestone tour balls X and XS from Prov1s, I seem to lose less golf balls. I have no clue why, but it is just happening.

Your average driver swing speed is between 123 and 126?

Or

Is that your ball speed.

I don’t know you but I have a hard time believing it is you average driver clubhead speed.

Yes

I get that quite often. I have a few guys on here that can vouch for my swing speed, but I'm not interested in a pissing contest. Just want everyone's take on the type of balls to use.

ETA: Well, lsuhunt555 is one of those guys...

Find it very hard to believe you "lost 20-30" yards one day. But all things equal, same driver, swing, swing speed, ball, I will say driver heads go bad. Now, this could be the head itself is cracked or just bad manufacturing that day.
I'd recommend going to the same golf shops you analyzed your swing with and hit new driver heads. It's not the shaft.
WIt's not the golf ball either; but to think you "play" this much and "swing" that fast, you consider playing a Precept Laddie puts a nice shite stench over all of this.

This. Coupled with the fact that many tour pros would love this guys phantom swing speed. And that Titleist is the most played ball on tour, but yet just isn't cutting it for you. Okay.

Something I'm considering

When I'm not playing competitively, I use this as a "test" ball. I try different shots when I do and test the waters. Like I'll try to draw or fade over trees with this type of ball and not feel guilty about losing a $5 ball .

Really good. Greens are still stupid fast, but the course is in really good shape

Dude has a ridiculous swing speed. The one part he neglected to mention is the erratic nature of it, but it's fast as hell.

No, just the part that leads to bullshite.

Very low spin head. You should try another head or that same one with more loft. TM had so many issues with that they had to launch a "Loft Up" campaign.

Then distance is the least of your worries.

You're not going to gain anything over a pro-V1, and the laddie is a shite ball for 20+ handicaps.

Did that

True, but it just makes it feel better when it goes as far as it used to

I am not disagreeing with this, good Lord. Read the rest of the thread.
