Doesn't he advocate for a neutral to weak grip?

I haven't looked into it all that much but my understand was that a neutral to strong is optimal

Yes, he does. He suffered from a terrible hook and designed his swing to completely remove the left side of the course from the equation. So, his 5 lessons are geared toward hitting a cut. But, the basics such as palm placement, stance, arm width, etc are great.

The reality is no grip, stance, swing is one-size-fits-all. But, for books Brandel Chamblee's "Anatomy of Greatness" is probably the best swing book out there in my opinion because he analyzes all of the greatest swings and the variances within them. I know people think he is a loudmouth but he understands golf.

Comforting to know one of the GOATs had that many issues.

His method is very favorable for those that are plagued with a slice but you've got to be careful about the hand rotation.

Finding out that very issue right now.

Hogan's book is a must read. It's about a $10 book so its a great small investment.

Another book I remember gaining a lot from was years ago, a book by Corey Pavin about the short game. It was called "Shotmaking".
