3 LSU boys giving it a go at Bandon. Starting on the Trails course is a bummer. Hardest of the two courses by a long shot. Add that wind and yikes.
Barbaree is still on course at -1. Winstead (pictured) and Barber finished at +2 and +4 respectively. On Golf Channel starting the 12th. Hoping our boys are still playing.

Yeah Cohen is going into his senior year of high school in West Point, MS. He’s committed to play at LSU. He made it to the semifinals last year before starting his junior year. Doesn’t look like he made it this year

Cohen was up there for it and tested positive for the corona so the usga told him he couldn’t play and he had to drive all the way back to Mississippi (couldn’t fly bc of positive test)He even asked for another test in case it was a false positive and they told him no.

Dang—terrible luck. Thanks for the info
ETA: he’s on the list of 264. Makes me sick for him

Barbaree finished -3 in a tie for 7th after day 1. Great position to get into match play.

I’m sure one of Mr Bryan’s planes came to the rescue

And I assume he'll be on Bandon Dunes course today. Much easier. Must take advantage. Geaux Golf!

The US Amateur looks like a decent college event this week. Twelve (12!) schools had at least 5 players qualify for the stroke play portion.

I don’t know that he has em anymore.

Here’s an article from Rick Cleveland on Cohen’s disappointing trip.

Tigers have some work to do. Barring a total collapse, looks like Barbaree will advance. Hope Winstead can go low too. Not sure what the number will be to advance. 64?

Yes it is 64, with a playoff for the remaining spots to get to exactly 64.

Then 18 hole match play until a winner with the final being 36 holes

Although Barbaree faltered today, it looks like he and Winstead will make it. Barber has some work to do.

I have to be honest, I thought this thread was about 3 players named Tiger that were in the field. That would have been about 20-24 years ago when Tiger was the biggest thing around so it would make sense.

I really want to go out and play the Dunes course. The reviews on Sheep Ranch were great too.

Sorry about the headline. Wasn't sure how to phrase it. Yes, you have to put Bandon on your list. MAJOR bucket list material that you will not regret. Sheep Ranch is good, but Trails and Pacific are even better.

For Gupta to shoot -8 on Trails is truly amazing.
Our LSU boys are doing okay. Winstead is having a heckava day. -5 thru 16. Barbaree missed his chance. Dunes in the morning is about as easy as it will get.

Ha, my senior year state tournament at canton country club I think he was in 8th or 9th grade and hit driver off the deck into 18 and stuffed it. IIRC he won the individual that day.
