Upgrading an older PC.

I recently built my new rig and it's amazing.
However, I still have my old rig which is outdated but is capable of running some modern games at a reasonable rate. Lately some of my friends who plays on console have been coming over and playing day-z and such on my old rig and enjoying the PC experience.
I am looking to spend a little money and upgrading the old PC to be a little stronger. I ordered this computer about 4 years ago from CyberPowerPC so it's little dated.

The motherboard won't recognize anymore RAM so I guess I'm limited to upgrading the video card and SSD. I'm not looking to run skyrim or anything on it but I'd like to try to spend a few bucks and get a little more performance out of it. I'm just looking to run games like Day-Z and such a little smoother for now.
Any suggestions on a video card to upgrade to?
I was thinking maybe something like a GTX 460 or something?

The power supply may limit what video card you can put in it.
How many amps does the 12 volt rail put out ?

My power supply is 450 watts. That's another concern I had.. Not sure how much more it will be able to handle without me having to upgrade.

You need to see how many amps are on the 12v rail, and make sure the card you are getting is under that.

Will do. I'll check that in a bit and report back.

If you're looking for some parts, I'm selling off my current build. I have a sapphire 7850 that I'm trying to sell to grab a 7970

why not just convert it into a server for files, media, games? Throw a second NIC in it to host...
