destiny is my break from fallout fapathon

I'm rank 3 in SRL and have gotten tons of 310-317 helms, and up to 316 cloaks. It's a great way to get loot.

Now if I can just join a group of people for the HM Oryx Challenge that aren't blaming each other all the time and actually get through the damn thing...

Also, there really needs to be a crash course for players who quit vanilla destiny and are coming back.

No kidding people are insufferable in this game. If you've played Destiny long enough, you damn well know sometimes you just die in the most bizarre ways and the ever present "WTF am I stuck on" death will always happen. However, somehow, people still get pissed if it happens during the raid.

I'm a little confused on how the light system has changed. Is there any way I can upgrade year 1 gear without going full on Ascend?

Basically, get to level 40 and then the only thing that matters is the light level of gear and the perks it has. When you decrypt engrams, make sure you are at your highest light level, so the engrams decrypt at the highest possible levels.

Not stuff you have, but most of the year 1 exotics are available to buy as year 2 weapons, and they just released more year 1 weapons & armor as year 2 items, so you can get those.

ETA: finally finished the hard mode Oryx challenge last night. Our group was full of people who "have been trying to do it since reset and can't finish it". We were like "no one is leaving until we do this".

2 hours later turns out that two of us had never finished the hard mode before (including myself). The rest of the group was like "wait, really?"

If you need strange coins for xur stuff do SRL. I got 70 of them or so this week. I mostly buy 3 of coins from xur and then use them at the end of SRL races that I didn't get top 3 and I will normally get an exotic ever second or third race.
