Just got to the point where I meet the guy with all the traps and apparently were about to try and find a car. This has been awesome so far. I love how you get to craft things and you have to scavenge.

Yeah bill is a bad arse, love that map on multiplayer as well.

Reddit spoiled it for me... It made sense though

I liked the story in left behind more than the combat. They could have had no combat and I would have been fine.

That was the best part. They said they wanted to put that in the main game but ran out of time.

I wasn't ready for all of that either

Maybe because I had played "Gone Home" somewhat recently but I had a feeling that was going to happen. They just seemed like they were a little more than friends leading into that.

I actually really liked the combat in the mall. I enjoyed the layout of that map, with the ability to traverse floors rapidly and plenty of hiding spots. It reminded me a little of my favorite encounter from the main game where Ellie is having to cover you with the rifle in the financial district. The mixed combat of infected and hunters was great too.

What I didn't care for was the whole aspect of them nearly breaking into the gate in the mall where Joel was. Having to constantly run back to that spot to clear a dude off felt like an annoying escort mission, which is funny because that's exactly what Naughty Dog said they tried to avoid with the buddy characters in the main game.
