for the guns that I unlock on "all kits", is that how people rank up that kit or class faster?

so like I unlocked the FAMAS and UMP for all kits. I am decent with them on CQ situations.

Could I just equip those to the Recon class until I unlock a BA sniper rifle?

Yes.

You can roll with the UMP as recon. FAMAS is assault only.

I use the SKS as a single shot assault rifle

The SKS is probably my favorite sniper rifle in the game. Follow up shots are quicker and more accurate than any other SA rifle. The M40 is my go to bolt action for spawn traps.
As far as leveling up the recon class, I mostly used the PDW-R before they nerfed it. If I had to level up recon again, I'd probably just use a shotty on tdm or dom until I got to a decent rifle again.

I just started playing this game, and maybe it was mentioned...but on the last slot of the loadout, am I better off using the sprint feature, ammo...explosives? What is the best starting off point. I have a total of about 6 hours playing the game and not sure about it.

I like it too, but the M40 feels better to me.
