Best assault rifles for the Assault class:
M16A3--Ole reliable. Little kick, little sway, on point. All around effective.
M16A4--Three round burst and semi auto fire version of the M16A3. Very effective once you learn how to use it.
M416--Not much different than the M16A3 except maybe for fire rate, but still not enough to make a huge difference.
AN-94--No grip, select fire and heavy barrel with the kobra sight. Lasers. Really not fair.
Underrated honorable mentions: SCAR-L, L85A2, AUG A3, and the G3A3 (20 round magazine, but a 33 damage at close range as opposed to a 25 damage compared to the above weapons...lower fire rate, too).
Noob assault rifles: F2000, FAMAS, AEK 971.
Best carbines for the Engineer class (note that carbines have a higher drop off damage rating at range than assault rifles):
M4A1--The M16A3 of the Engineer class.
M4--The M16A4 of the Engineer class.
SCAR-H--The G3A3 of the Engineer class. This gun has the same 33 rating close up, but only a 20 round magazine and slower fire rate.
G36--This gun is probably just as good or better than the M4A1.
ACW-R--Very good gun, but it only has a 27 round magazine and has a very high rate of fire. Note that it only has a 22 damage rating close up, but the at-range rating is either 20 or 18.4 as compared to 14 for the other carbines).
Underrated honorable mentions: G53, SG553, A-91.
Noob carbines: M-TAR.
Best LMG's for the Support class:
M27 IAR--The IAR is probably the best all around weapon in the game. It's the same platform as the M416, but it has a 45-round magazine (60 with the extended mag, but that sacrifices the heavy barrel slot, which you'll want). M27 IAR is my baby. I love it so much.
The rest of the LMG's are almost useless without the bipod deployed. They are, in theory, heavy weapons that kick a ton and they patched the frick out of them. In Conquest, it's tough to keep a bipod deployed and stay in one spot. But, the best LMG's with bipods are the M240-B, M249 SAW, M60. The others like the PKP, Type 88 and MG36 are decent, but I don't have a ton of experience using them.
You can use PDWs or shotguns for any class. I don't use them often, but the best might be the MP7, then the MP5K, the P90 and who cares what else. The best shotgun I guess is the SPAS-12 and then the M1014.
I don't snipe, that's for communists and buttsex loving fagatron monkey asslickers, so figure that out for yourself.
Prepare to get your shite pushed in.

If you're in a tank, reactive armor is a must. Unless your in a a camper's paradise like Seine Crossing or Operation Firestorm. Those little cuntbiscuits come out of the woodwork, any nook and cranny. So, use the proximity scan in it's place if you get C4'd. I find thermal optics are an absolute must. As my third slot, it depends on what I'm dealing with on the map. A lot of open infantry spaces, I'll use the HMG or LMG. If it's close quarters, I'll roll with the cannister shell (the HMG and cannister shell do more damage to jeeps and lower rated vehicles like bikes, quads and humvees/vans). The LMG, HMG and cannister shell do give you hit markers on choppers too, but the cannister shell up close can deal some damage. Hits to choppers with the main tank round is a one hit kill.
Tanks are most vulnerable from the top and back and underneath. If you lay mines, lay them in threes. Three C4 if you can manage that.
As far as attachments for weapons, any sight that magnifies is useless now. Use a red dot, holographic or kobra. I like the Americans because USA, that's why. Most weapons are great with a grip and heavy barrel, but I find the G3A3 and AN-94 are better without the grip.

You're missing out on half the game if you don't use vehicles.

It's 1x, right? IR smoke is good on big maps.

fa realz. I pretty much miss pre patch everything: USAS w/ frag, choppers, famas, and tanks
Posted on 6/17/13 at 7:40 pm to iheartlsu
I started playing like a week before the patch. So I didn't even have enough unlocked to notice anything
Not that anyone uses close quarters guns but the M5k is nice up close. Probably had my best game with it on aftermath.
