... in a DLC you have to pay for
This just an assumption or is this really what is going to happen?

Subways are basically confirmed for dlc. Bridges are up in the air as they are shown in art but not gameplay video.
I would guess very basic bridges in release and more with transportation expansion

Looks like SC2013 is going to be a bust - big time.
Guess I'll be sticking to 4 then.

I mean are we going to have to Pay for that stuff later on in a DLC?
Posted on 10/22/12 at 6:54 pm to SundayFunday
absolutely.
the first DLC (which will be purchased, not given) will essentially complete the game.
to make it worse, they are thinking of pricing the game at ~$65 from the onset. add another $20-30 for the first DLC a few months later and this is just one big cash grab
the folks over at simtropolis are not happy overall

What on earth prompted EA to straight up gouge for a series revamp?

dunno. revenue issues i guess.
proper play for a SC5 would have been SC4 + hex grid + glass box engine
instead they went with a cash grab and online only play.
i still want to know what they plan on doing when they cant pay to keep the servers running.

Revenue Issues at EA? They've pretty much been whoring themselves out to the NFL to monopolize the Football Videogame Market.
I'll admit this looked like a massive improvement from SC4.
Terraforming: LINK Go to about 8:30.
Honestly, I thought Terraforming was complete shite, so I'm not going to miss it too much.

graphical? sure.
gameplay? maybe. from SC4 vanilla, sure. not from the "real" SC4 (which would include the basic major mod packs from the simtropolis community). that version of SC4's gameplay looks to far exceed what we will be getting in the release version of SC2013
