in houston it really depends on if you're single, enjoy nightlife, and you're age.

if not then, getting a place as safe and as close to your job to avoid traffic as possible.

i have friends that own houses outside the loop and when you add in mortgage, property taxes, and utilities they pay more than i do. but it is an investment rather than money out the window.


My Pro's & Con's

Con's:
- $1100 out the window per month
- a house is an investment.
- will build my credit

Pro's:
- i'm a 10 minute drive away from work.
- it's an area full of people my age
- entertainment. 10 minutes from ballparks, bars, clubs, and everything else
- no traffic
- i'm not locked into something longterm
- no upkeep on my part


also, the company i work for will be building a monster complex in Spring within the next 5 years, but until they do there is no reason to get into a hurry on buying a house anywhere else.
