PS3 Problems...Help Please

OK so I bought NBA 2k12 the other day and put it in. It would show the little spinning CD in the top right corner as if it were reading the CD. It would never read it however. It would make a noise like it was going to eject the game, but didn't eject. I thought maybe it is something with the game. I ejected it, replaced it with a couple other games and DVDs, none of which worked. Anybody had this problem before or know how to fix it? I emailed Sony about it and because my system is over two years old, the warranty is no good. It would cost me $99.99 plus S&H just for them to look at it, plus any repair costs for parts/anything else would have to be replaced..
