Just get the real deal.
If gamestop has a controller for sale it is cause it stopped working for someone else. I have bought bargin bin and gamestop controllers for my kids and they junk out quickly.
Spend the money and it will be worth it.

Yeah I've got four myself 
One with my original PS3, one I bought to have a 2nd controller, a 3rd from when I got my Slim, and a 4th to have a red one.
My black dualshock that came with my Slim has never even been taken out of the wrapping since I only use my red one.
