I need help on purchasing a video card for my pc build. I built this PC around last January. Now please don't laugh at my build this was my first time every doing this and i had no idea what i was doing. At first i wanted a pc just to watch movies and have xbmc on it. Now i want to game on it. So i will link my build from pc part picker.
Now about the video card i want. I will only be using my 1080p tv to play on. But i would like to have it at max settings.

So please lead me in the right direction. Also my price range is no more that $350.00. but i would like to stay cheaper.

All I get is the generic page where you can select parts, none of yours are selected for me.

You're probably going to have to up that PSU depending on what card you go with.

ETA: I would say a 280 or 280x but that would no doubt mean you have to upgrade that PSU which would eat into your budget. A good 280 will run $200 and the 280X will be $250-$300 so that does leave some room for a better PSU.

The answer is a GTX 970 for $329. In fact, the TDP being 100 watts lower than something like a 770 may actually make it possible to run on that PSU. Maybe. NVidia officially recommends a 500W, but given the rest of your components aren't particularly 12v power-hungry, 430 might work. No overclocking on CPU or GPU, though.

The problem is they are somewhat elusive. Seem to be in better stock than the 980 though. Get one: LINK

I had that PSU before. No way it would run his set up and a 970.

Given that it's a so-so PSU but fared kinda sorta well in tests, I put it on the fence because of the 970's 145W TDP. It would put the 12V rail at something close to 95% load. Having never owned one myself, I am only basing my guess of its capabilities on the jonnyguru load test: https://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story3&reid=239

Obviously there's gonna be some variation in units, and the load, over time, would wear out the capacitors more quickly, and the PSU is probably gonna be a little hotter in that SFF case. So I'll concede that.

But either way, GTX 970 is my suggestion.

Any of these PSUs will be fine: PCPartPicker Presorted List
