If the PS4 is made for gamers/gaming and not as the single solution to all your entertainment needs, it can be cheaper IMO.
Xbox is turning into the mini van of the console market. Adequate at everything, not good at anything.

The PS3 had a custom built chip (Cell), Blu Ray, as well as the PS2's chip ("Emotion" engine) for backwards compatibility.
The PS4 is essentially using off the shelf components, and the price in Blu Ray technology has plummeted. The Xbox One employs similar components, but I think it's the Kinect that's pushing the price to $500.
I expect the PS4 to be $50 - $100 cheaper.

No thoughts on the new gadgets on the PS4 controller actually pushing the price up though?
Your basic controller is $50ish, but adding a touch screen/pad will probably add a good $25-$50 to the cost as it is.

A bunch of cgi cutscenes of games in development. There were some games that showed gameplay like Killer Instinct, Ryse (which looked like a bunch of mini cutscenes and quicktime events), some indie game called below, BF4 where they have already have a DLC map pack(which was running on PC btw+frick EA), a cool game called titanfall which is available on PC, witcher 3 which will be on PC, halo teaser, twitch TV streaming, dead rising 3(meh), forza 5, microsoft derping around by not playing sound with a couple spots(facepalm).
