So proud of myself, I know I'm starting to get a LOT better even if it is bronze, from where I was just a month or two ago. Won probably 14 of 15 and 10 straight after finding a damn good support to duo with.

The only game that was shitty was the 4/10/14 game and that was solely because it fricked up and made me reboot early game.

According to Riot logic, you will lose your next 25

jk, congrats

ETA: Trying to practice more support. It's a nightmare.

ADC/APC's can't focus the right people, can never get a 5v5 teamfight because at least 1 or 2 teammates are off somewhere else farming wraiths or "split pushing". No follow up on CC when we have an advantage.

Game knowledge is just so underrated among silver and bronze (and probably gold)

By far the most frustrating part of soloq.

I've played support in ranked more than anything. Your first priority is to win lane. In bronze/sil (my experience), I've had the best results with being very aggressive early. Low elo bot laners can't deal with pressure. Just keep the river warded and watch for ganks.

You will not always have an adc that can handle your pressure lane. In this case your #1 goal is to not die in lane and keep your ad farming.

Don't wait for the adc or others to make decisions. Ping dragon, Or move mid and put more pressure if you have your lane in the bag.
And ward like no tomorrow and keep on others to ward too.

If they aren't focusing the right person, tell them who to focus.
You are the support so more than likely you will be the one engaging. That means who you engage on is who they will focus so make sure you are making the right decisions.

Remember, some people are just bad at the game and you are going to lose some. The key is making sure you win when you have decent players on your team.

This is precisely how I play support every game. And 9 times out of 10 we win our lane. Problem comes later in the game when our carries don't know how to focus, kite or position in team fights to avoid being melted a second into the fight.

I do this as well. For whatever reason, as a support, I feel like I have the responsibility of knowing where everyone is on the minimap, warding, peeling, engaging, making dragon calls etc... so the other can focus on what they do....damage.

I know it will even out in the end, and it's just teambuilder, but it's still frustrating when you can't get your team to communicate with you when you are offering advice, help and strategizing with your team.

I love that role. Just wish people would listen sometimes

One underrated skill to know as an ADC:

Know when to harrass the other ADC, but not lose cs.
Pay attention to your own minions cs to know when the other ADC will be vulnerable to an auto-attack.

Little things like that are paying off for me lately and giving me the advantage in games.

I don't understand matchmaking at all. How do I get a gold 4 and Plat 5 duo against me in my Silver 1 promos? The mmr of both 'should' surpass mine. Yet there I was having to compete with a plat 5 and gold 4 just to get promoted to silver 1. Not to mention the rest of the other team was no lower than gold 5. I was the only Silver in the game. It makes no sense.

Was just about to come here to post this.

Some friends and I were just playing some team builder. I am the highest at Silver V, and we got pitted against a Plat V and 2-3 Golds in the second game.

Got rolled both times. I seriously don't understand how that is supposed to be even remotely fair to play against.

It seems like it would be really simple. Instead of complicating everything with mmrs, just use the division. Enough people play this game that they could very easily match up everyone within 1-2 divisions. It makes zero sense that I would have to compete against all gold teams to get promoted to Silver 1. If I'm trying to get into Silver 1, put me against Silver 1's. It's very simple logic. I mean, I won so I'm not complaining too terribly bad, but thinking about people who are on the cusp of their limit, it keeps people from reaching the max division they could be in because they are constantly fighting an uphill battle. It's never the opposite. It's never a bunch of silver 3's and 4's on the other team if you're trying to get into Silver 2. I just feel like they are trying to make what could very easily be a very simple ranked system way too complicated with formulas that don't work.

I wish Tristana didn't have such shitty skins.

I looked everywhere for the rare Earnest Elf Trist skin to buy but no luck.

Rocket girl is too plain, one of the worst 975 RP skins IMO, Buccaneer is her best.

Nor should it be really. I agree if you're in silver getting grouped with a plat on either team shouldn't happen, that is too big a gap. At the same time, I think one player from a few levels up (going for silver 1 up to say gold 3, maybe even 2) is OK. It should be harder to go up, otherwise everyone would go up.

I do agree with you though sometimes it gets carried away, especially when it is all stacked on one team. That said, I have had games where before it starts when you look at the divisions you think you are going to get smoked, then end up winning the game. I dunno if people get put in roles they don't normally play or what.

Personally, I don't even look anymore. I don't really care what my team or their team is ranked. If I play mistake free I have a good chance of winning - all I can control is my play. We've all made that one mistake face checking or at baron etc 45 min in that has thrown a game before

It would get harder to go up the more that you won. Because if you're climbing divisions, your competition would improve because you would be playing increasingly higher divisions. I just think the teammate/opponent selection should stay closer to your current ranking rather than you having to deal with the skill level of a division 3-4 tiers away and getting punished for not being ready for it.
