Trailer

What do you all think about this game?? All the major gaming sites seem to be drooling over it. Its supposedly a universe size sandbox game that allows you to travel from planet to planet at will.

I personally just don't get what all the hype is about. I admit the traveling from planet to planet and around the universe is cool, but other than that I just don't see whats to love.

I think part of it is the story of Hello Games. Super small studio of developers who used to work for EA and Criterion. They leave and come together to make this almost inconceivable game. I love science fiction games so this is right up my alley but it's definitely not for everyone. I'll play Fallout and walk around the map for hours on end just finding stuff and that's what this game seems to me but obviously on a universe level! And the fact that I can seamlessly fly from planet to planet is amazing!

It's a really cool concept but I can see myself getting bored with it after a week or so

Yeah dont get me wrong, I love a huge open world game like that. I think my biggest turn off is the art style, looks too arcadey for me.

Also, has anyone heard if there is an actual story line? Or is it simply just an exploration game?

No storyline. Just an exploration game. The "goal" is to get to the center of the galaxy. I really don't like the game's creator. Any time he is asked a question he gives some smug answer about how people are supposed to play the game and how they're not. Like when someone asked him a year ago "so you can run around and kill everything you find?" He said "well yeah but that's not the right way to play it. You're supposed to explore." He changed his tone on that for whatever reason here recently though but he still acts douchey

Yeah the game seems really interesting and I think I'll buy it but I agree, it does seem like it could get boring fast. No hijack but I can't wait til Until Dawn comes out.

It's definetly a game in which I'll wait for the reviews. How many random planets can you explore before it just gets tedious?

I'm all in on this...I have high hopes that it will be the exploration version of what I thought spore might of been (when first talked about).

We shall see.

The only survival aspect I could see for this game is if they allow for the ability to create an economy, factions, and like.

I've been saying this since I first saw it. It may end op being very innovative and fun but nothing I've seen, so far anyway, has me excited.
