what kind of OC do you have on that CPU? if you don't have an OC, it must be a thermal paste issue because there is no reason to be hitting 85c in 30 seconds at stock even with the stock cooler, shitty case, shitty fans. if its not thermal paste I would be a bit worried about that cpu altogether.

surely he means that pre applied film? i have never ever heard of a stock cooler not having ANY thermal paste. either way, that is a good place to start as the pre applied stuff sucks. order some thermal paste, wipe the old stuff off with high percentage ETOH, and see what happens after reapplying.

This is the fan. It doesn't come in direct contact with the CPU itself. It sits on those four prongs and hovers right above the CPU and pushes the heat up and away from the CPU. It's the fan that came with it.
