Same. I keep checking to see if they'll do the Bethesda thing and just go "just go ahead and play it" but no luck just yet.

One streamer I watch plays only 1 game. He almost NEVER plays anything else. Out of the blue, he dropped an AWESOME review of Shadows. I'm not saying he was paid to push a positive review but he was paid to push a positive review.

Said Yasuke was who he wanted to play with.
Yasuke was boring and generally useless outside of battle.
There are 3 mechanics to AC games:
1)Combat
2)Stealth
3)Parkour
Yasuke can't really parkour or stealth, and all his assassinations are loud.
Playing with the girl you can be use all 3 mechanics. With Yasuke you can just fight.
Also his fighting style is not very different from hers. He warps and streaks across the battlefield, instead of being the big lumbering overwhelming force he should be. He is also basically invincible.
With the new scout system, you don't even need to explore areas, just highlight them and the scouts clear them out and reveal all the stuff.
None of this is meant to sell or detract from the game, just giving Cliff's Notes

Fextralife gave it an 8.5. Would have been a 9, but the story and writing are really bad.

Now here is Luke Stephens saying it is completely different from Valhalla, which he didn't like.

I am getting the sense that this game is going to drop, sell a bunch of copies, and nobody talks about it ever again.
Will it be enough to save Ubisoft? We'll see. I have read that this need to be their best selling game of all time, just to give them a shot.

Not saying he's wrong, but he's been extra negative with everything lately. Like Jeff Gerstmann reincarnated....if Gerstmann was dead.
The general read I get is it's, at worse, as good as the best recent games, Origins and Odyssey. For me, an AC junky, that's all I need to hear. If it appeals to a wider audience, we'll see.

He was giddy about the Oblivion remake, loved KC:D2, said Avowed was good he just expected more from Obsidian,
There have been a spate of bad games recently, and bad news from the gaming industry, such as lay offs. Of course he will cover negative things negatively.
Which game has he been negative with, that you disagree with?

At this point I’m pretty certain Ubisoft ghost writes the reviews itself. If this wasn’t published by Vice I’d swear it was a troll…

It's his tone in general. He was extremely down on Avowed, I game I'll admit I haven't played, when most of the reviews I saw either really liked it or it was mid at worse.
But take away that, just scrolling through his video feed, titles like "Modern Gaming is Dead" and "AAA Gaming Took a Massive Nosedive" is just stuff I can get here. The doom and gloom hyperbolic takes. I don't have to agree with everything with him, but when it seems like you are going hard at the "sky is falling" market, I can't be bothered.
Also, he's kind of pissing me off by constantly getting my hopes up for crap that never shows, especially with Bethesda. I think this Oblivion remake rumor has legs, but I quit watching any speculation videos he has about the studio. It hurts too much

I beat Avowed last week. I'll be honest, I can't remember how it ended.
It was OK. It was pretty Skyrim without the bells and whistles.

You should watch them. The one he did after WB closed studios he actually got pretty violent. He was really personally bothered by all the devs losing their jobs and IP. Dude spits facts. Basically saying all these things tanked because of conflicting demands from the money men to, well, monetize the shite out of everything.

Oh I know. That's the reason I started watching him. He's just too optimistic about stuff like Fallout 3 Remaster and I fall for it every time. He's called for that announcement too many times
And for Avowed, I remember watching a clip where he was just jamming on NPCs in the game, how lifeless they were. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance, but I'm not going to play Avowed any time soon so it's whatever. I already knew what his opinion of Shadows was going to be after his preview video, so I wasn't surprised this was his take.

He gave a full review, and was able to find out why there was no environment engagement and the rest.
Apparently it was going to be live service, but was changed at the 11th hour.
