I have cox, and it blows for gaming. We are suppose to have the "better" internet too. Me and my roommate can hardly both play online without lag. I have heard a little about at&t uverse. Does anyone in the br area have at&t if so how is your internet for gaming? Or is there any other internet providers in the br area?

is a ping of 120ms good?

i'm thinking about going to charter. $29.95 for 30meg. I'm at 10meg with uverse and its 39.95 i think.

we, in the USA, are so screwd over by our providers. the cheapest internet should be at 10meg, with 50 being middle and 100 being the 49.99 price.

I ping at 19-25 consistently, but I have DSL.

I get lag pretty bad at times

I have no clue what my speed is like, can anyone decipher it for me? I just did the test but it doesn't say how good it is.

I have:

Ping: 25ms

Download Speed: 16.14 mbps

Upload speed: 1.95 mbps

That's more than good enough to play online...
25ms is you ping time, In other words the time it took to get the packet of data from your house to the server.
The download and upload speeds are how much data, or megabits you can download per second

For games like Call of Duty ping is all the matters, the lower the better.

Then again, with lag compensation as bad as the last 2 COD games, who knows what matters anymore?

I have Comcrap. Ping ~20, Down 15-20 at best, Up 3.5

use [link=(testmy.net)]this[/link], it's more accurate because you can customize your test and send larger packets of data.
