With how good Titan Fall looks and Destiny being multiplatform I see myself staying on the box for multiplayer. I am very much excited for Infamous and some of the other PS4 SP games.

Whichever more of my friends are on. That probably won't be established for at least a year or two.

Xbox One
Xbox live and better exclusives are what will do it for me
Plus I don't know anyone who will be buying a PS4 so all my online gaming will be done on the Xbox
My PS3 got so little action after I bought a nice blu-ray player the damn thing just died. I wanted to play uncharted 2, but I tried to turn the damn thing on and nothing.
All the petty things people bitch about with the Xbox one literally have no effect on how I play games.

Even tho I have been very pro Sony lately, I will probably pick up the One later on this gen when it comes down in price and when the next Halo drops.
Right now I'm about the exact opposite as Geux...I play my PS almost exclusively unless I'm playing Halo or any XBLA exclusive (State of Decay for example)
ETA:
I'm still really interested to see what happens with renting games on the 360 because that is where 70% of my games come from.

thats strange for sure, and might change if the market shifts which can very well happen

How is that strange? We have all been playing together since the original Xbox and each have had PS2's and PS3's in the past. Nothing about the PS4 announcement made an impression on any of them. Xbox live is leaps and bounds ahead of PSN when it comes to online gaming. Why switch? So we can not play the exclusives we enjoy?
I don't see how the market shifts. I can maybe see PS4 maybe taking a lead over the Xbox, but nothing drastic. The things people are bitching about are really not that big of deal except for some people in certain situations.

Probably the one my buddies get. Really surprised sonys stance on drm and Internet connection. Xbox One for Halo and Titanfall. Ps4 for multiplatform games like bf4. Tentative to change multiplatform to xb1 and very few exclusives to ps4 like Killzone.

This hits the nail on the head for me.

I don't know if this will hold true for the next gens tho.
The only thing that really has me turned off with the xbox is that they sold it as an entertainment console and it seems like it's really intended to be used on your main TV.
Well giant tvs suck for FPSs which is really all I play. I'm not trying to play cod on a 50" TV and would probably never use the xbox for anything else.

This was the marketing strategy with Sony and the PS3. I'm sure you had no trouble playing games on your PS3.

I am the exact opposite on this.
We have seen what Xbox Live looks like in their first conference last month and I loved it. The same great look and easy access. They actually made the kinect look like a useful device at that conference.

Don't get me wrong, if you are planning on hooking your gaming system up to your main tv and using it to go back and forth btw tv, games and the xbox media, it will be great.
But I would not use it that way. All I care about is gaming and halo or cod. I want my tv and gaming console separate unless the xb1 greatly enhances comcast which I'm still waiting to see how exactly they will work together.

Shouldn't be too difficult of a task.

In all seriousness I am interested to see what exactly the xb1 will do with comcast. They didnt give any specifics did they? It sounded like you could basically watch tv and have the xbox interface up at the same time, which IMO doesn't add any value.
If the xb1 could take a non-hd receiver and broadcast HD through the xb1, that would certainly be an upgrade... One of the biggest reasons in having an actual receiver tho is for DVR capability. Unless you can record tv and have it stored to the xbox WITHOUT a receiver, I don't see any advantage.

However, you can't cancel cable just yet. Watching live TV works through an HDMI pas-through, wherein the cable box or satellite box connects directly to the Xbox One, and then passes the signal to the console through an HDMI-out port. And because of the cable box pairing, you can get TV with as much or as little Xbox as you'd like. Want to use your normal remote? Fine. Want to swap over to Microsoft's entertainment guide and use voice and gesture controls? You can do that, too.

Do two things at once, thanks to Xbox One's Snap Mode, which, a la Windows 8, lets you run two apps at the same time. One app can be snapped to the side of the screen to run while you're watching a show or playing a game. So you could be looking at a movie, and head over to IMBD while it's playing for more details. Watching something while you browse for something else? No problem. And then there are video calls. Snap Mode will also take you to Skype chat say, while you're perusing Netflix. Pretty awesome stuff.

Microsoft created a completely new, interactive guide for Xbox One that has full Kinect voice controls. To see it just say say "Xbox, show the guide." From here, again, you can speak the name of the show or network you want to see, or you can search by actor name, time slot, or genre. If you want to go home, say "go home," or go to a Trending page to see what's most popular on TV. It's like the ultimate remote that isn't even a remote—insanely simple to use and to do things you actually want to do

The thing that they haven't mentioned is if you can use the Xbox One's built in DVR as a DVR for your cable.

I'm a Halo fanboy so I'll get XBone for that purpose.
I'm a Bungie fanboy so I'll get PS4 to play Destiny.
I will probably lose my gf, job, etc., in the process.
