Hope everyone got their yr 2 flawless runs in! The first emblem kind of sucked but the cat one was nice.

I just got back on the destiny. Never ran the Kings Fall Raid or Challenge of Elders. Would like to work on getting most of the Year 2 triumphs done. Only a 305 light level though. The grind to 335 has been ridiculously hard with all of my friends giving up on the game.

I get on at random times because my work schedule is different everyday, but if anyone wants to play, I'm down. I pretty much just use a Titan though. Never cared for the hunter or Warlock.

Can you carry me to a flawless?

Also, will year 2 guns be able to be infused up to year 3?

Moments of triumph is going well for me. I'm done with mountaintop. I need to best oryx on hard and do the challenge for him this week. The hardest part is finding a group that can do it.

Trials is finished for year two. I don't think it's coming back until September 30th or something like that. It's like a week or two after the expansion drops.

But no lol. I'm not nearly good enough to carry. I have a few friends who are above average and if we get some luck with the matchmaking and are on our games we can make a run. I've only been flawless like eight times

Unless I misunderstood, all of the weapons from TTK will be usable (You can infuse) them with ROI weapons.

If you catch me online I'm usually down to do challenge. It's pretty easy with 2 people and a complete joke with 3.

Can't help with the raid though. I've only done it once, and it was with 5 guys who I think do it every week.

If you are solo, your best shots at leveling to 330 right now is vanguard/faction rep. Get a good setup to farm Heroic Strikes and then pop a Vanguard booster and keep playing until you level up a Vanguard rank. This weekend I did this a lot and was gibbing bosses using Weapons of light + Telesto with ease. This week is solar+grenade recharge increase. Hammer titan + Bad Juju or Sleeper Simulant, a Solar sidearm or Sniper will be a good setup.

You will get strike specific gear that will help you level your character up, the faction packages will always be an increase until 330 and the strange coins you'll get from the strikes can be used to buy 3 of coins for a chance at exotics or heavy ammo synths which you trade for faction rep.

If you want to run the raid, the100.io is a great website to use for finding other players.

Well uni remote is a tournament-banned weapon, so by your definition, it's for scrubs.

Which tournament?

I've never heard of a sweats tourny that bans Universal Remote. I mean Thorn is the most used primary weapon in sweats, at least that I've watched.

These are the rules that I've seen every tournament played by. Obviously, that doesn't mean every tournament ever, but every one I've ever watched/known about.

ETA:

quote:

1. No heavy ammo usage - Heavy ammo introduces a massive amount of variance: games can effectively be decided by a single team wipe at the right time.
2. No Pocket Infinity - Until February 2015, this gun broke the game, and it still is ridiculous on certain maps and can promote play that is so passive it stops the game.
3. No intentional suicides to avoid being killed by an opponent - Since suicides do not penalize your team, this tactic is fricking stupid.
4. No Luck in the Chamber on high impact snipers - One hit kill (OHK) sniper body shots are fricking stupid.
5. No Weapons of Light - OHK sniper body shots are fricking stupid.
6. No Exotic Armor - This rule exists mainly to ban the Ram, Lucky Raspberry, and Voidfang Vestments. With max armor stat, the Ram’s armor bonus is still stupidly powerful in 2.0 (especially with an armor bonus chest piece). Raspberry and Voidfang led to ridiculous amounts of arcbolt and firebolt spam in year 1.
7. No class-specific exotic weapons - This rule exists to ban Tlaloc.
8. No high impact pulse rifles (Xbox only) - High impact pulses (messenger was the one in use when this rule was instated) are the only primary that consistently makes you no shield in one burst/shot, have basically infinite range, and can pretty easily reach high-max stability. Xbox players found them ridiculously dominant in early 2.0 play and banned them.
9. No duplicate subclasses (ps4 only) - This rule exists mainly to ban running more than sunsinger (firebolt spam), one sunbreaker (hammer spam), nightstalker (shadestep and smoke spam), or gunslinger (GG spam).

Yep and those rules were followed in the recent sweaty tournament that was hosted on twitch.

Outside sweeties everything is a go. Scrub mentality dictates other wise. I have void fang vestments plus a T11 Int/STR build on my warlock I use for trials. Why? Because I normally have my super by heavy round which equals me wiping a scrub team, I have a new axion bolt grenade on respawn/revive and my melee is back up in under 30 seconds for the shotgun melee+ Energy drain. Scrub mentality says that this would be easy mode on steroids and I must nerf myself to be fair. frick that I am going to try my damnedest for 9 wins.

I have always had the notion of telling people to use whatever they feel most comfortable with or whatever they feel is the best weapon for the strategy they wish to use. With this past weekend I swapped betweed Mida/Conspiracy Theory and TLW/LDR5001 why? Well three map rotation and I ran into a lot of passive teams that wouldn't leave their spawn and hard scoped lanes. It was ridiculously easy on Burning Shrine when that happened and hard as frick on Asylum when I ran into those teams.

No lighthouse but I helped 5 teams get 5+ wins and one of them where no one other than me used comms.

Definitely wouldn't mind some help grinding up to 335 before Rise of Iron. Played all through year one and the first couple months of 2 and now my brother in law and I wanna get back in. We are both level 40 with 297 light levels. A Hunter and a Warlock. We'll probably start getting on tonight after work. Any advice on where to start would be great and if anyone wanted to help even better. ha

Just forgot there was a sweaty tournament that had the added rule of no exotic weapons. Trying to remember the name, it was "Far" something

It was FarCog, their official tourney rules are here: LINK

Exotic armor is banned, Class specific weapons are banned. Uni is ALLOWED

Hm. Maybe they just self-banned it in the interest of self respect.
