You see that spell that you cant use until 64 Intelligence? You can only use it once and it sounds Monstrous

We waltzed through the tower of flame bosses, just crushing them with spells. At one point though, we had to take on the golems with our daggers.

Soul Memory?

PVP and co-op isn't just determined by soul level but how many souls you've acquired. You can find the stat somewhere in the player status menu. It's hard enough in this game not to get overleveled but Soul Memory can make it difficult to play with friends or co-op or invade if you're overleveled and have a billion souls.

I just started NG+ and I'm constantly running around with 120,000+ souls.

When I started up NG+, I was around 3 million souls spent meaning I can only co-op with people around that number of souls. You can spend souls on leveling or on buying equipment.

Starters Tip:

Don't punch the monkeys that are outside the hut with the ladies in it until you create your character. There are lots of them and you will die.

Glad I read through this whole thread b/c I feel like I'm at a dead end. Fighting the giant spider, Freja, and struggling mightily with her. But I can't think of other areas to go and haven't found new ones.

Had no idea where the miracles chick went so I will exploring the areas she opens up. Should these areas be explored first before continuing with Freja?

It's not mandatory, but the pathway leads to Huntsman's Copse, Harvest Valley, Earthen Peak and Iron Keep, where you get another old soul.

Did you summon the NPC phantom against Freja? It makes the fight a lot more manageable.

Who's is the NPC you can summon for Freja? Can't think of his name. I haven't encountered him anywhere before that fight.

Posted right before me. Yes, I still couldn't finish her though. Have gotten close but I still die.

It is a random NPC opposite the mist door, behind a column.

Can't remember his name. Its 3 words. Something (a color, I think) Something Knight.

Hmmm...

I'd recommend going level up in other areas first then. Freja was the last of the 4 great souls I got.

Go to Huntsman's Copse, Undead Purgatory, and Iron Keep. You'll get some good leveling done there.
