Previously my PS4 was laying under the tv on a console. Recently the ole lady wanted put the TV on the wall above the mantle with everything hidden behind it. Along with that, the PS4 is now laying vertical behind the TV on the wall. I also have plugged in an external drive to give it more space. Since I've done these things, I've been getting a lag sometimes during gameplay. Like if I send my person left, it'll take a bit to go or if I send him left he just keeps going left for a while even though I'm no longer sending him that directions.

Has anyone had this issue before? Fixes? Thoughts?

Did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in?

sounds like you should take the system from behind the tv then. then if the ole lady starts to give you shite about it, dump her

I experienced this same problem this past fall. It suddenly stopped lagging one day and hasn't done it since. Very weird!

There is a button on the back of the controller that resets the controller. Get a paperclip and push it in that hole. Worth a shot.

I think it's it's definitely Bluetooth interference. Mine sits in a cabinet with glass doors, I have to open the doors from time to time to get it to quit. I think is related to the controller not having LOS to the PS4.

This is odd. It's not infrared, so you shouldn't need a line of sight to the console. I'm pretty sure I've operated my PS4 from a completely different room in my house.

This is what I thought you should be able to do...especially in freaking 2018. Going to try to hard reset (unplug power) and the reset button the remote when I get home today.

To those of you experiencing this issue, would y'all happen to be playing your games off of an external HDD by chance? I don't think I started experiencing this problem until after I began playing all of my games from an external 4TB HDD.

This is a post from the other guys thread. I did just connect an external hard drive and moved all my gaming info to it. Would that cause an issue?

I have a separator monitor in the living room that I play on when some one else wants the big TV. Its only 15 feet away from the PS4 but the controller connection drops out all the time. It will stay connected no problem as long as I'm not more than 10 feet away from the console.

Another option if you cant fix the issue is to get a third party wired controller.

That's what I thought too, but it definitely happens with my setup. Also no external HDD for me. I don't know why, but on occasion my connection just acts shitty.

Bluetooth extender

Anyone every try this? Seems like a quick and cheap fix. I know it'll void the warranty but bought it used anyway.
