Looking to get a system that a group of kids ages 4-10 could use and enjoy. Should we be looking at Wii U, Switch, or another brand all together? Ability to travel with it isn't important and it would probably get heavy use on motion related games etc.

PS4 with Bloodborne, RE7 VR, and Overwatch should have you squared away

He wouldn't make it to the first werewolf to be killed. He would probably walk in circles.

Switch or PS4, would probably go with a Switch with that age group but pretty soon (if not already) they will be wanting to play all the big hitters that won't be on coming to the Switch. Also what do their friends have? For the 4 year old I would for sure lean Nintendo but 10+ the PlayStation will offer more, plus all the streaming capabilities.

Depends. If the 10+ is a girl, switch is fine.

I have 6(boy) 9(girl) Have a WiiU , Xbone and PC. They play PC games and minecraft on the xbone a Ton. But they also like disney infinti and mario cart and my son LOVES splatoon.

fwiw, maybe get both.

Nintendo consoles seem perfect for family fun and are probably the way to go.

Having said that, our family console is the Xbone. There are usually some good "free games" with Gold membership that we play together. We have had some great times with Rayman Origins, for example.

Thanks everyone. Appreciate the serious (and not so serious) responses. Thinking we'll probably go the Nintendo switch and/or wiiu route and reassess as they get older/tastes change

There's a way to get a wiiu soft modded too and access older free games

Any ways I say a wiiu or Xbox one

Btw Mario kart 8 is a blast, especially the online battle mode

We have a Switch as our "family" console. I play Mario Kart with my 8 and 5 year old all the time and we have a blast. It has some features that help weaker players still compete with advanced players.
My boys also enjoy IPad games as well so that may be an option for you

I would skip Wii U as it's already not getting new games.

If you don't want Switch, PS4 is an option, but you'll have to look a little harder. I'd recommend Minecraft, LittleBigPlanet 3, Tearaway, the Lego games series, Rayman Origins/Legends, the yearly sports titles. Couple more options depending their interests (racing games, licensed games like Transformers, Dragon Ball Z, etc).

You can get a Wii U for nothing right now and your kids will have a blast with it. AND you can play breath of the wild on it.

I'd suggest Nintendo land and of course Mario Cart.
