Nope, I was trying to get past the complete noob stage before playing with you guys.

My steam id is ambientzz I believe.

I set up my mic and skype last night around 745 and then went and laid on my bed for a second; woke up at 530 to my alarm for work.....God damnit....lost a whole night

This dropped, gonna try it out today

Balance

Soviet M3A1 Halftrack
• Damage from 9.9 to 10
• Far accuracy from 0.37 to 0.2
• Near cooldown duration modifier from 0.5 to 0.6

German 222 Halftrack
• Damage from 7.2 to 5
• Accuracy near from 0.125 to 0.2
• Rate of fire from 12 to 18
• Far cooldown duration modifier from 1.2 to 1

Adjusted the risk vs. reward aspect of unit garrisons within vehicles.
• 50% chance for each entity inside halftrack to die when the garrisoned vehicle dies.

To better compensate for the larger squad sizes of the Soviet weapons teams, the following changes were made:
Soviet Weapon Teams
• Soviet PM41 82mm Mortar Barrage shoots slower: 2 to 3.575 seconds.
• Maxim HMG deals less damage: 12.9 to 9.5.
• Maxim HMG setups slower: 1.375 to 1.5125 seconds.
• Soviet HM-120mm Mortar shoots slower: 7 to 8.9 seconds.
• Soviet HM-120mm Barrage shoots slower: 2.5 to 5.175 seconds.
German Weapon Teams
• German Granatewerfer 81mm mortar shoots faster: 4.5 to 2.4 seconds.
• German HMGs, Mortars and AT Guns have 4 entities instead of 3.

I don't get those balances at all. The long accuracy changes on the half-tracks make perfect sense (make sniper-tracks a little less effective from range = Needed); but the changes to soviet squads?????


If anything, I was expecting some German nerfs; they are already the slightly better army imo (I feel like the germans are better in games where everyone knows what they are doing bc most of the time those games will go a long time until the germans are op, but the soviets are much better at straight stomping idiots), and it's ALWAYS like 65-35 in distribution of who is searching for the germans........

So they nerf the russians.................

I don't understand these devs at all.

ETA: I'm looking at the magnitude of the changes and some of those numbers are changing close to 100%........ seriously, I say again; WTF. Has relic ever balanced a game before?

ETA2: THEN THEY ADDED PEOPLE TO GERMAN SQUADS AS WELL?!??!?!? , Did they think of two ways to fix the problem they saw and then just did both?

The nerf has to do with the main gun on the M3A1 (if I'm reading correctly). The sniper halftrack should be ridiculously effective post patch, only there is a higher chance for the snipers to die when car blows up. The problem with that is a sufficiently micro'd scout car + sniper is nowhere near the combat, negating both stat changes.

Yea, thats my point, the sniper still is rocking but the machine gun wont add to it anymore. Before you could park your m3 just outta range of infantry and it would kill just as many people as your sniper.

It seems like an indirect nerf.

Is the m3a1 not the first halftrack the soviets get>?

The M3A1 gun would not fire at max range of sniper, which is how the car is most effectively utilized. It is the first car the Soviets get, assuming they build the special rifle command, there aren't "tiers" like with the germans, but if you build the support weapons buildings you get no vehicles.

Look, I've had about 30 hours with the current configuration where SU85 + Sniper car has dominated and there is no way to counter it. I've defeated bunker spam, pio spam, grenadier spam, mg spam, and just about every type of early game strategy the germans have using the sniper car. All you have to do is mix in conscripts and research the AT grenade ability, or even use a commander who has the guard rifles.

Let me say this as well, the Soviets are the best faction by far and it is puzzling that the game search percentages are so skewed towards Germans. People like to say that germans have better armor but that only applies when they are talking about T34s, because right now they should only be used to ram expensive german counterparts. Two or three SU85s can handle ALL german armors whether it is P4s or Panthers, the only thing that kills it is the Elephant which is a lateeeeeeeeeeee game doctrinal unit.

I out-dueled two players down south while my teammates were losing 3v2 in mid. The only time I got in trouble was right before I got my first P4, but the M5 halftrack he brought in ran over some mines I had placed and the guy quit - it was glorious.
