Not when accepting invites, host migration, connection interruption and idle timeout count towards "backing out mid game!
Fix that shite!

Turned on my xbox this morning after logging off post match last night......
PROBATION FOR 60 seconds. Wtff?
Cougar said he was in probation for 3 hrs? That's insane.

What is this probation you speak of?

If you do not complete matches and back out however number of times, you get put on "probation". You then cannot join another match for however amount of time they put you on "probation".

So to penalize kids that repeatedly back out of lobbies treyarc uses a probation warning followed by a actual timeout if the player doesn't heed the warnings. I've seen 60 seconds and 5 min probation periods. You can't play a single match until it ends.
I have no idea what qualifies as officially deserving probation though. I'm sure they've stated what it takes but I've never seen it

Wtf is the point of 60 seconds? I you want someone to quit backing out make the minimum 24 hours. Who cares about one or five minutes (besides you apparently)?

Happened to me last week. Power in my house flashed while I was in game. Then if happened again. When I logged back on I was on probabtion. My probation was for 5 minutes. I sent Vahn a mean tweet.

They have been doing this in halo for a few years now

hmmm. did not know this. I like the idea in theory but there's really no way to regulate why the person disconnected.

I could nt care less normally. I rage no more than the next guy. But my issue is the penalty doesn't seem to differentiate between rage quitting or simple invites mid-game.
I actually support the action if applied correctly. I don't think you should penalize for days being that you pay for online services whether you are a frequent rage quitter or not.

So they are finally going after dashboarders and game quitters?
not a bad dealio, but the game has so many internal issues, that i think they need to start fixing their game, and worry about this, later.
also, activision said they know they have some lag issues(really? treyarch seems to say, there isnt), and the head guy, said to take down your firewall and other stuff. It was laughable

or they could stop living in the past and give us dedicated servers. It's not like they don't have the money to do it.

Except they do it for more than just disconnecting. I had a one week matchmaking ban a few years ago while try to get some achievements

I wasn't even boosting but I took my licks anyways.
It is designed to keep people from backing out/ quitting
if you back out/quit too many games they will make you sit out of matchmaking for an hour on the first offense, it goes up from there.
other crimes have other punishments and they can even ban the account from matchmaking permannatly if you are caught cheating.
personally thats why i like it better than CoD. they go after cheaters in halo
