Best PS4 game for 11 yr old sleepover? Multiplayer preferred.

While I know local multiplayer games are generally a thing of the past, there has to a be a few good ones still out there, right? Any good shooter or racing games available that have local 1 vs 1? I would like to set up a tournament style format for my son and his friends, similar to what I did as a kid. Thanks.

I'm assuming just one PS4? If you have a big enough screen, Rocket League would probably be perfect for them.
This is actually co-op, but Overcooked is a fun and simple game I think they could get into as well.

They can co-op rayman legends with 4 players. Although that won't be vs.
Rocket League is also a good choice.

You can set up 1 v 1s all day over LAN in all the CODs.

Your 11 year old doesn't know this kind of stuff? Let him pick the games he likes. I coordinated that kind of stuff on my own as a kid, I'm sure yours can manage it. Just buy him the game he wants

Let him scroll through an endless list of games online, or ask TD? He plays mostly online, so he's also not familiar with local multiplayer games.

Local MP if I remember.
It isn't 1v1.
I've only ever played with two people though.
Another good older game that is local is Metal Slug. Those are just sidescrollers.
I wish there were more local party games, but the PS4 is lacking there.
Another game that kinda fits the bill is Borderlands, but it's only 2 ppl.

Castle Crashers is old, but one of my favorite multiplayer games ever. It's co-op, not competitive, but they'll probably still have a blast playing it.
