I played the AC1 and Revelations.
That was more than enough for me. Just too repetitive.

I liked Revelations a lot more than 2. The controls are frustrating at times.

I've played through every single game, but I don't have a problem with this kind of characterization. I'm interested in the Caribbean locale of IV but I don't expect anything different than what was described in the video

They can all be repetitive but 1 and Revelations are considered the worst 2. I always tell people to skip one and play 2 first.

1 ruined the whole series for me. put about 5 hours into it and couldn't stand it. Never played another one.

Most people are advised to skip 1 and go straight to the sequel. Give it a try.
