Ladies and Guys - I am shocked. When I posted the Help me post, I had 59 votes on my Recipe post, hoping to be considered for the Recipe contest to win a trip to Italy.
The first place contestant (a turkey spaghetti recipe) had 180 votes and was well ahead of me. With my thought that I would never be able to catch up. At that time, I was in maybe 5th place. The judges - at the end of March will consider the recipes of the top three vote getters and award the most reasonable, best looking photo recipe with the grand prize being a trip for two to Italy - sponsored by Cavit wine.
So I did what any reasonable person would do, I came to TigerDroppings at 2:30 pm and asked for help, first to the F&D Board, where I spend most of my time and then at Gris Gris suggestion to the Good Old OT-Board. What happened?
It is 6:10 pm and in the past 3 and a half hours I have received right at 400 votes and am solidly in first place.
I have no idea how to post a hundred cheers emoticons, but you guys are worth them.
The voting stops on March 31, 2018 and the way things are going at the moment, I am a shoe-in for consideration. The photo is good and the recipe is solid.
The only thing I needed today, you guys provided.

The support of this place is amazing, but I have seen it in the past and it really doesn't surprise me, even if it took less than 4 hours to punch through.

Your recipes helped me learn to cook. My parents were never good cooks and I wasn't around my grandparents often enough to learn. In my early 20's (about 6 years ago), I decided it was time to teach myself how it's done. Your recipes made it easy for me with the step by step picture instructions because I didn't always understand terms or recognize ingredients. It helped tremendously that the food was always delicious. Today, I'm a pretty good cook myself.
Anyways, I hope you win that trip to Italy. You deserve it.
