Evening baws
FirstPD, Still Austin, cask Strength
I like it. The reviews are pretty spot on, not much on the nose but palate and finish have a lot going on

2nd pour is another Still Austin, this time with a few drops of water.
Takes the ethanol away, but mutes the leather and cinnamon and I am tasting more candied orange peal.

Usually don’t like to add a couple drops of water and this is the case with SA.

no but I don’t get the peanuts some say they get. I mean Old Ezra 7 is classic peanuts. You can almost feel the chunks

Peanuts? All I get on the standard release is caramel and vanilla. It’s a batting for the traditional bourbon on profile but with something distinct and special about it, and it succeeds. Once I get me the CS I’ll compare and see. I mainly get peanuts from Jack and Old Forester

That's wild. I get strong banana candy on those (pretty much any Brown-Forman product).

Peanuts on Jim Beam products (Knob Creek, Old Tub, etc...).

Yeah it's funny how that works. Our palates can be all over the place. I do get some banana from OF, but Jack is like peanut butter to me.

Anyone going pick up a Calandro’s BT pick? If so, I’d love one or two extra

What's the details on that Old Soul?

Saw it at my local grocery and I'm intrigued but it's hard to pull the trigger on something I don't know anything about. Especially at $100.
