Oh I never add the proof. that is a good idea so you can let excel average it out.

As the weather warms here is a tip worth mentioning drink your sipping whiskey indoors. This winter I have been pouring a 6 oz poor with 2 ice cubes and sipping it outside by the fire pit. Last night I was reminding that gnats are attracted to a whiskey glass. I had not noticed they were returning till i lofted my glass for a sip and saw a few floating in the glass. Since it was a gift and expensive pour i did what any country boy would do i fished them out and kept sipping but with my hand over the glass from then on. Cheers Baws and keep ya whiskey covered from now to the next good cool snap this fall.

I see a lot of people talk about mixing the 1920 and 1910 (1915) and saying how good it is. My question is I also see a lot of people saying mix it in a bottle and let it sit for a week or so. Is that necessary or better question is does it really help? I was going to try this mixture later today but was just going to pour a 1/2 and 1/2 in a glass. What does a week do for it in a bottle?

It's kinda like how a gumbo has more depth of flavor the next day.

A 1915 will taste good right when you mix it, but a little time in a bottle will let the flavors blend together more. I did it in a mason jar.
